Listen up, champagne lovers! This Valentine’s Day you are up for a treat! 🥂
I love champagne! Always have, always will. And what could be better than celebrating the day of love with the beverage of love?!
For my boyfriend and I champagne really is the beverage of love. Therefore it holds a special place in our heart. When we first met each other, we lived in different cities and only saw each other on the weekends. To make this short amount of time we had with each other special, my boyfriend would bring a bottle of champagne every now and then. Cuddled underneath a blanket and with two glasses in hand we would talk for hours and eventually…well, you know the end 😉. We would call this our “champagne dates” and thinking back to this time, it was the best thing ever 💗! Now that we are living together these champagne dates have become less. But still remain special.
I must admit that over the years I got so used to the taste of champagne that I now either drink champagne or nothing at all 🙊. Call me spoiled but after having had lots of alcohol in my teenage years, I choose wisely now. But of course I will always love a good cold glass of rosé 🍷 and the occasional Moscow Mule 🍹.
Even though I like most champagne brands, there is one particular champagne I prefer the most. Having always been a fan of Moët & Chandon, I discovered a special flavour called Nectar Imperial a few years ago. This champagne has a little sweetness to it and is just amazing!
So what drink could be better to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Since I wanted to add some fanciness to the champagne in honor of this special occasion, I added some edible hibiscus flowers to the glasses and topped it off with a sweet raspberry. The skewers were a gift from Moët & Chandon during one of their Valentine’s Day specials a few years ago. I just love them a lot! But I also adore these ones.
Oh, and did you know that you should always ask for a raspberry when ordering a glass of champagne in a restaurant? If the raspberry flows atop, you can be assured that the champagne is fresh!
What is your beverage of choice? Do you also like champagne so much?
